Committees

The Moroccan Association of Actuaries has four specialized committees, responsible for advising the Board of Directors.

  • Committee responsible for the organization of the profession, the application of qualification rules and the ethics code; in particular, it draws up the code of ethics, monitors it and investigates complaints involving an actuary accused of having contravened this code.
  • Technical Committee, in charge of developing the recommendations and standards of actuarial practice and preparing the official positions of the association.
  • Scientific Committee ensures the scientific missions of the association and the missions related to the supervision of training in actuarial science. The Scientific Commission delivers opinions on the subjects submitted to it by the Management Board. Its principal missions are:
    • Definition of the minimum level of knowledge required in actuarial training (or insurance and financial training in general) and observes the quality of the education and training programs and the method of issuing diplomas.
    • Coordination between the training and research sectors and the association.
    • Applications for the recognition of actuarial training and, where appropriate, the formulation of opinions on the agreements, conventions and amendments binding the association vis-à-vis schools, institutes or training organizations.
  • Qualification Committee, in charge of the appointment of qualified members.
